Support the Civil War Studies Center

Our 1918 Exchange Building, used as the museum’s main events venue, will also house our Civil War Studies Center.

Coming soon to the Missouri Civil War Museum, the Civil War Studies Center will bring history to life for students during field trips, give researchers valuable resources and information on the Civil War in Missouri, provide the public with programs, and save history.

By supporting our efforts, you will also support students, educators, historians, and the public learn more about the Civil War in Missouri.

Financial Gifts

Monetary gifts provide us the funds to complete the library and research center in the 1918 Exchange Building, including the necessary equipment and resources to protect and preserve the history.

All gifts will help us tremendously!

Books

To enhance our Civil War library, we are looking for any books on the Civil War Era that you are able to donate to us.

If you are interested in donating books to our library collection, you can either call us at 314-845-1861, or just stop by the museum with your gift.

Manuscripts

We aim to complete a database of every Missouri soldier who served in the American Civil War. If you have documents (letters, diaries, service records) or photographs (before, during, or after the war) that you wish to be preserved in our database, you may bring them to the museum to be digitally scanned or donate them to our collection.

If you are unable to bring your manuscript or photograph to the museum, please email copies to our Executive Director Mark Trout at mtrout@mcwm.org.
