Set at Jefferson Barracks Military Post on the historic Parade Ground, the 1918 Building at Historic Jefferson Barracks is the ideal location for celebrations of life, group meetings, and other small gatherings.
Newly renovated, the 1918 Building has a beautiful open floor plan, featuring a large caterer’s kitchen, high-definition surround sound system, projector and television set up, beautiful and clean restrooms, stunning view of the historic Parade Ground and Military Base, and within eyesight of Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
All proceeds from the rental fees of the 1918 Building benefit historic preservation projects at Jefferson Barracks.

About Our Facility
Constructed in 1918, the Exchange Building served as a commissary store for soldiers stationed here at Jefferson Barracks. After World War II, it was decommissioned and used for a variety of purposes to support the post until acquired by the Missouri Civil War Museum. After a multi-year historic restoration, the building will now be used as the museum’s main event venue and available to the public for rental.
Basic Rental Information
Perfect for any occasion, the 1918 Exchange Building has an open-floor plan, including a caterer’s serving kitchen, restrooms, and a ballroom. Additionally, we provide dinner tables, seats, and a serving area for caterers.
The venue may be used for meetings, luncheons, birthday, anniversary, or retirement parties, funeral gatherings, ceremonies, or other events.
Banquet Room Size: 2731 sq. ft.
Caterer’s Kitchen Size: 400 sq. ft.
Occupancy: 70 guests for seated events and 100 people in row seating
